An estimate, not a quote. It assumes about 4 kWh a day from each kWp of panels in Gauteng, 90% usable battery capacity and the rate you entered, with no tariff increases. Your real figures come from the site assessment.

Questions

About the sizer.

How accurate is the sizer?

It is a good starting point, usually within one size of the final design. The site assessment adds the things a calculator cannot see: roof space and direction, shading, your distribution board and how your usage changes through the day.

Why is my geyser not in the list?

A geyser draws 3 to 4 kW for long periods and would empty a home battery quickly. It is cheaper to run it from the grid or from solar in the middle of the day, or to fit a timer or heat pump.

Where does the saving figure come from?

It multiplies the solar power you are likely to use yourself by the rate you entered. It does not include tariff increases, which would shorten the payback, or battery replacement, which would lengthen it.
